Poetry has the power to sway and capture the magic of love, joy and heartache.

“Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi…” began its journey as a tribute to the late Ghazal Maestro Jagjit Singh
by singer, songwriter, composer Shekhar Ravjiani.

This show first premiered at the Esplanade Concert Hall, Singapore to a standing ovation and brought
back to life some of the legendary Ghazals of Jagjit Singh including, ‘Hothon se Cholo Tum’,
‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi …’, ‘Tumko Dekha’, ‘Jhuki Jhuki si Nazar’, ‘Tum itna Jo’ and ‘Yeh
Daulat bhi Le Lo’. It has since gone to Jakarta, Indonesia and featured at the prestigious Jaipur
Literature Festival 2018.

Shri Jagjit Singh was Shekhars mentor and this concert is a tribute to his Guru. The beauty of this
concert is that the accompanying musicians are the ones who orignally performed with Jagjit Singh
for many many years.
