KK -Bollywood Beatz, The Ritz Carlton

With over 500 hindi songs to his credit, KK needs no introduction. He rose to fame with 'Chod aaye hum who galiyan' and 'Chapa Chapa' in the film Maachis in 1996. Today he is known for his innumerable hit songs like 'Tadap tadap ke' from Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam, 'Koi kahe …' from Dil Chahta Hai, 'It's the time to Disco…' from Kal Ho Na Ho, 'Dus Bahane…' from Dus, 'Aakho Mein Teri …' from Om Shanti Om, Khuda Jaane from Bachna Ae Haseeno and scores of others. A bollywood extravaganza with red carpet and a bollywood wall of fame left the crowd totally dazzled. Dancing away late into the night to all his top of the chart hits, the audience couldn't get enough.

Abandoning a well established printing press after quarrelling with his business partner, Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, finds himself unemployed and struggling to make ends meet. One day he accidentally comes across a tent theatre where a silent motion picture from Hollywood is being screened. The mesmerizing moving images take over his imagination and inspire an idea of genius - finding a way to make India's first feature film. Phalke starts to pursue his dream and with his hardworking wife and two enthusiastic kids by his side, he discovers how to make a movie. Despite meagre resources, he finds a dedicated cast and crew, and on the sheer strength of his dogged determination, his film, 'Raja Harishchandra', is finally released in 1913. To Phalke's amazement, the audience falls instantly in love with the movie and is entranced to see a tale so familiar to them, come alive on the screen. This is a film about Phalke, now known as the father of Indian cinema, and tells the wonderful story of a man whose passion for movie-making turns his life, and the lives of all those around him, into an amazing adventure.

Indian Ocean and STEM Dancers, St. Regis

The music of Indian Ocean has been described by critics as "Indo-rock fusion with jazz-spiced rhythms that integrates shlokas, Sufism, environmentalism, mythology and revolution". With top of the chart albums like Desert Rain, Kandisa and Jhini under their belt and innumerable concerts and performances world over to packed audiences they have a cult status with strains of rock, folk, and fusion in their music.
We brought them together in a unique collaboration with the STEM Dance group, India’s leading Traditional and contemporary dance groups led by acclaimed dancer choreographer Guru Smt Maya Rao and Madhu Nataraj. Using indigenous movement disciplines, the Kampni has created a varied and comprehensive repertoire, which includes Kathak, Dances of India, contemporary dance and ballets on mythological, historical and contemporary themes.
The event was organized for the top clients of a leading banking institution in Singapore and was extremely well received by the audience.

Asian Festival of First Films 2009

The 5th Asian Festival of First Films (AFFF) closed on a glamorous note with a formal sit down dinner at the prestigious Rafffles Hotel with local celebrities and artists gracing the occasion.
Out of 700 entries from 28 countries, 30 films and documentaries were nominated from across the world including Australia, India, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, USA and UK and screened in their original languages ranging from Hindi and Persian to Cantonese and English. The nominated films were shown at Golden Village Marina cineplex and The Arts House during the festival.

Kala Utsavam: Indian Festival of Arts

An annual festival, Kalaa Utsavam celebrates Indian arts during the festive period of Deepavali – the Festival of Lights. Launched in 2002 as a three-day festival, Kalaa Utsavam has since grown into a 10-day festival that presents an exciting selection of contemporary and traditional performances by acclaimed Indian artists from Singapore and beyond.
The highlight of this year’s festival was Hamlet, the Clown Prince directed by Rajat Kapoor and stand up comedy by Vir Das, both of which performed to packed houses. The opening of the festival was by Swaagat, The Puppet Theater which showcased Rajasthan’s most spectacular forms of traditional puppetry and Advaita, an eclectic fusion band who has revolutionized the music scene with their brand of contemporary hindustani fusion-blues.

India Splendor 2007 (in USA) was the first consequential effort of its kind to bring together film industry leaders and key decision-makers from Mumbai and Los Angeles. The objective was to catalyze longer-term creative and business connections between the two international capitals of cinema that together produce more popular entertainment than the rest of the world combined. |

Best Male Singer 2006 (Kerala State Government) winner, Srinivas has been the singing voice of superstar Rajinikanth, won awards including the Tamilnadu State Award for the song Minsarappoovae in Padayappa and was recently conferred the Kalaimamani title by the Tamilnadu State Government.
Young and versatile, singer Karthik was catapulted to fame by the success of Tamil hit movie, Baba, for which he sang the famous tunes, Maya Maya and Sakthi Kodu. Karthik�s talent had been spotted at the start of his career by industry stalwarts such as A. R. Rahman and Illayaraja.
Sujatha, an established singer whose career has spanned two decades, has sung many hit songs for films such as Gentleman, Indian and Minsaara Kanavu. Her first hit was Puthu Vellai Mazhai from the film Roja, whose music was directed by A. R. Rahman.
The famous, scintillating jingle for Idhayam gave Srilekha her ticket into the Tamil music industry. Then her hit Kalyaanam dhaan Kattikkittu from the blockbuster Saamy topped Tamil music charts and shot her to fame. Since then, she has continued delivering hits from movies like Tirumalai, Madurai and Ji.
This Tamil movie extravaganza was an all-out entertainer with star singers performing with Shyam Orchestra for one night only!

Kailasa - Kailash Kher in Concert

A smashing concert by Bollywood's singing sensation!
One of the latest sensations in the playback world of Bollywood, Kailash is known and loved for his soulful voice and smash hits with his band Kailasa. An Indian singer of popular Sufi music, Kailash hails from New Delhi where he learnt Hindustani classical music. He rose to fame with playback hits such as Allah Ke Bande from the Bollywood movie Waisa Bhi Hota Hai II, and songs from the film Mangal Pandey: The Rising in which he also had a cameo appearance, among other songs. His other Bollywood singing appearances include his on-screen performance of the song O Sikander in the movie, Corporate.
Currently, his latest song Tauba Tauba from his album Kailasa looks set to become another record-seller. He has also produced some of the biggest musical hits of recent time, like Teri Deewani from Kailasa, Chak De Phatte from the hit 2006 film Khosla Ka Ghosla. Songs from his second album Kailasa Jhoomo Re are on high rotation on Indian radio stations and television channels.

The Panchakanya, is the story of five Indian women (Ahalya, Draupadi, Sita, Tara and Mandodari), placed on a high pedestal and considered redeemers of Sin. Incarnations of beauty, wit, power, innocence and charm, their lives showed a tint of liberalism in a traditional patriarchal society, offering an alternative explanation and notion about the chastity of women.
Presented in Traditional Bharatanatyam, Panchakanya, is a fusion of Swara and Jati patterns, intermingled with Sanskrit shlokas to bring out that which is eternal, the Panchakanya.

Keeping with the festive Deepavali mood, Zee Network, India's largest vertically integrated media and Entertainment Company offered its viewers in Singapore an opportunity to watch their favourite television stars come to life at the mega event called "Zee Nite", hosted in Singapore-splendid performances by the hugely popular Sa Re Ga Ma Pa finalists and other famous Zee stars.
"Zee Nite", the two hour event was anchored by a celebrated Zee star and showcased mesmerizing renditions by Debojit-(The winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005)-joining him are Himani, Twinkle and Vishwas for their ardent fans from Singapore. Rajshree Thakur, popularly known as Saloni from Saat Phere also set down to don her dancing shoes and grooved to the latest Bollywood hits at the event.
